The roller derby track is almost oval shaped. Its inside line is a perfect oval, 25 feet (7.6m) across and 60 feet (18.3m) long. The track itself varies between 13 and 15 feet (4 -4.6m) wide so the outside line of the oval is an irregular shape. The track is widest at the second and fourth corners (these are the corners that skaters come out of the apex on) and skinniest at the first and third corners.
If a skater was to hug the inside line of the track, each lap would measure 34 and a half metres. So, those 25 laps in 5 minutes that fresh meat girls all over the world are aiming for represent at least 862 and a half metres. And the 30 in 5 that forms one of our 10 goals in 10 months? That’s over a kilometre of circles!

I love the diagram that you’ve included. Did you make it yourself? I’m working on my own guide to roller derby (for a club I’m starting), and was wondering if I could use your track diagram in my guide. Thanks!

It’s not mine. It’s just a google search result. Love the sound of your project!

Are these the dimensions of a banked oval track? Please tell me, as I’m planning a roller derby board game project, so I wish to learn a bit about the size of the track. Thank you.
